As completely color-obsessed as we are, you can imagine how much we love seeing the Pantone Color of the Year announcement! It’s sort of like how kids feel on Christmas morning. We completely believe that the colors that people are unknowingly drawn to are such a reflection of what is going on in the world so it’s always fascinating to see how each year unfolds! As pantone puts it: a symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.
For the first time Pantone introduces two shades, Rose Quartz and Serenity as the PANTONE Color of the Year 2016. Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.
We are TOTALLY on board with this years prediction and although we typically are drawn to brights, we’ve been feeling such a strong pull toward lighter, more airy hues! What do you guys think?
